Olá,

Considero que agora é o momento oportuno para dizer às poucas almas que me seguem a que se deve o silêncio.

Primeiro: blogar aqui já não me atrai, não me devolve qualquer tipo de satisfação;

Segundo: tenho quase a certeza que ninguém me lê ou ouve;

Terceiro: o formato do blogger é pouco interessante, e, no meu entender, já está ultrapassado. Mas não se iludam raros leitores, não farei parte do rebanho que segue o Facebook, nunca gostei do formato nem da sua filosofia;

Quarto: não estavam à espera que desaparecesse assim sem um plano B, pois não?! Há cerca de um ano que tenho vindo a construir um abrigo noutro local, mais colorido, vivo e activo;

Quinto: para aqueles que sabem como a música é importante para mim, sim, o silêncio deste blogue é um sintoma do estado de coma em que esta negra página mergulhou, e já nem as terras distantes me estimulam, parece que estou a mudar, provavelmente para pior...

Bem, caros amigos e seguidores, foi um prazer enquanto durou, aprendi muito com tudo isto e com vocês, por aqui ficará apenas o silêncio até que alguém desligue de vez o interruptor...

There's no place like home. Peering out of the windows of the International Space Station (ISS), astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson takes in the planet on which we were all born, and to which she would soon return. About 350 kilometers up, the ISS is high enough so that the Earth's horizon appears clearly curved. Astronaut Dyson's windows show some of Earth's complex clouds, in white, and life giving atmosphere and oceans, in blue. The space station orbits the Earth about once every 90 minutes. It is not difficult for people living below to look back toward the ISS. The ISS can frequently be seen as a bright point of light drifting overhead just after sunset. Telescopes can even resolve the overall structure of the space station. The above image was taken in late September from the ISS's Cupola window bay. Dr. Dyson is a lead vocalist in the bandMax Q.

These beautiful images of the human body are part of a new exhibition at the Royal Institution. Each was taken using the light emitted by the bioluminescent bacteria Photobacterium phosphorem. Artist Anne Brodie developed the technique and exhibition in collaboration with scientist Dr Simon Park and writer Dr Caterina Albano.

As dunas de Titã

Explicações? Why do some sand dunes on Titan appear backwards? Central Titan, it turns out, is covered by sand, some of which appears strange. Images from the Cassini spacecraft currently orbiting Saturn have uncovered long rows of huge sand dunes near Titan's equator that rise as high as 300 meters. Shadows indicate that most dune shapes are created by wind blowing from the west. The problem is, the typical wind at Titan's equator blows from the east. One recent hypothesis that might solve this grainy conundrum posits that the only winds strong enough to move sand and create dunes occur during rare equinoxes and blow strongly from the west. The above images show a radar swath of Titan's equatorial sand dunes at the top, while similar sand dunes that formed in Namibia on Earth at the bottom. Why central Titan is even covered by so much sand is still being investigated.
